Wanda Sue Stephens, 56, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 in Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
Wanda was born July 18, 1957 in Harlingen, Texas to Marvin Lloyd Lamar Stephens Sr. and Nora Cole Sims Stephens.
Wanda was an Educator with the H.C.I.S.D. for over 30 years; having taught at Vernon Middle School and a special education teacher. Wanda was a lover of life and dancing. She won several talent shows and dance contest.
Wanda is survived by 4 sisters, Marlyn Stephens, Marvina Miller, Lynne Clayton, and Roslan Barnes; brother, Ronald Stephens; father, Marvin Stephens Sr.; aunts, Ann Gilmore, Trevor Brooks, Clarice Roberson; uncle, Robert Cole Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, Nora Sims; father, Robert Sims; and brother, Marvin Stephens Jr.
As per Wanda's wishes, no services will be held.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Heavenly Grace Funeral Home and Crematory.

We are very sorry for your loss. God receives and welcomes our loved ones. This must be very difficult for all of you. Wanda was our daughter's teacher while she was teaching at Vernon Jr. High School in Harlingen. We appreciate and have appreciated all that she did for our daughter in providing for her special needs. Mr. & Mr. Jesus De Leon, Jr. Harlingen, Texas.

With deepest sympathies to Wanda's family and friends. I will always remember her being a true friend to my aunt Viola (Rocha) Trevino. I have fond memories of her coming over to my grandparents to show us how to dance. Every time I hear "Every Little Step I Take," I think of her showing us how to dance. RIP Sweet Wanda
