Wanda was born to Carroll Jackson & Iva Jewell Gibson Hodges on January 1, 1936 in McAllister, Oklahoma.  Wanda went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at her home in Hanford, California after a brave battle against cancer.  Wanda was a Homemaker for 48 years until her husband Robert Lee Stice passed away.  Wanda has been a resident of Hanford for the past 10 years.  Wanda had also been a longtime resident of Modesto, California before moving to Hanford.  Wanda was raised with her two siblings; Paul & Millie Hodges who she was very close to.  Wanda and Millie were especially close throughout life.  Wanda was an avid reader, and loved gardening in her spare time, but most of all she loved being around her family and caring for them.  Wanda was good friends with Beverly VanLier,  since 1962 when they first became neighbors.  Wanda and Bob married on April 14, 1951 at the Stice Family home in Monterey.  Wanda and Bob made their home in Monterey, then moved to Modesto, where they raised their two children; Stephen & Marsha Stice.  Wanda was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Oakdale, California for 35 years, once moving to Hanford she joined and faithfully attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; Carroll & Iva Hodges and her beloved husband; Robert Lee Stice and brother; Paul Hodges.  Wanda is survived by her loving children; Stephen "Steve" Stice and wife Diane of Eugene, Oregon and Marsha Renard and husband Jim of Hanford.  Wanda will be truly missed by her four precious grandchildren; Crystal Causey, Rachelle Stice, Savannah Cortez and husband Matt and Gabriel Steiner.  Wanda's sister, Millie Haddock, aunt, Edna Daniels and dear friend, Beverly VanLier, also survives her.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. at People's Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA  93230 559-584-5591.  A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at San Joaquin National Cemetery; 32053 W. McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA  95322.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Wanda's memory to the American Cancer Society; www.americancancersociety.com

Marsha, Your mom was a very special Aunt to me.I never heard her say a bad word about anyone.Even at the end she was laughing and talking about her Grand kids.They meant so much to her.She will be loved and missed forever.Heaven now has a very special Angel.

So sorry to hear aunt Wanda passed away guess I won't be able to spend the night any more. Wanda was the best aunt any one could have. Wanda was a great cook loved going to her home for dinner. Aunt Wanda was the best. I loved her so much. So sorry Steve and Marsha. With love Donna Iturreria
