Not sure what to say?

Chief Mott had the uncanny ability to sense when you needed a pat on the shoulder. One of the few leaders that was as much of a friend as he was your Supervisor. He earned your respect for his abilities, he earned your trust and support because of who he was as a human being.

To BJ and family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Please know that you will be remembered in my prayers.

Major Mott-
Mr Arlen and Mrs Myrtle were proud of you. You accomplished so much. You are a true Policeman. Thank you for accepting me and giving me a chance. You are one of a kind. To the family...we love you all!
The Herrings-

Wesley was a wonderful Officer and a great husband to my dear friend BJ. They both were an inspiration to everyone who knew them. They left their law enforcement mark on Columbus,Ga.along with their warm friendship.

It is with such sadness that I found out about Gene's passing today. As cousins we grew up having such fun times and I loved him dearly. He was a wonderful man and I send our sympathies to his family and friends.

Gene

You were a great friend when we went to school together in Germany. You were a great friend and best man at my first wedding. You shall be missed.

Such a fine man. He left a lasting legacy on the Columbus Police Department and on our city. No one was better at community relations than Wesley. He sincerely cared about people, and everyone in our city really cared about him. He will be so missed. Rest in peace Wesley.

Wesley was a fine person and a very good Law Enforcement officer. I was assigned with Wesley during the 1996 Olympics in Columbus when I was An Internal Affairs Investigator with the GDC, and had known him for almost 30 years.
Prayers to the family and Especially Mrs Mott.

Johnny McCurry
Retired GDC
Chief Investigator Internal Affairs Division

On behalf of the Cox family our condolences go out to the Mott family. It was a great pleasure working for Major Mott at the time who was then promoted to Assistant Chief. Rest in peace until we meet again.
