PETE ANDERSON AND I GRADUATED FROM Maggie L. WALKER HIGH SCHOOL IN THE CLASS OF 1950 , IN RICHMOND, VIRGINIA. PETE WAS ALWAYS A FRIENDLY GO GETTER. HE EVEN STARRED ON THE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAM! REST IN PEACE PETE!

Rest In Peace and Power, Pete! I am grateful for the advise that you gave me when I was an under/grad student at UCR, esp giving me the opportunity to do my student teaching at Emerson, as well as when I was an K12 teacher/ admin, reading specialist, and professor( cc/ university) for 45 years. Diana was my mentor and a dear friend, and your daughter, was one of my best students! I was able to visit with you, briefly, a couple of years ago, and I will always cherish that memory! God bless...

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Thank you Mr. Anderson for your motivation, support, encouragement, advice, perseverance you always believed in me to graduate at John W. North High School! I did it! Class of 1982! I will always remember you! You were a great counselor to me and my siblings at North High! You always had a smile, caring spirit! You always showed your love for us and only wanted what was best for us! RIP. In Sympathy, Josephine (Lopez) Alvarado

Group of 10 Memorial Trees

1st - In the 60´s, My parents; Mr. Willie & Mrs. Essie Sneed, myself, & siblings fondly know Mr. Pete Anderson from his weekly trips out to my parent´s home located in what was then called Perris/Woodcrest, California for coming to get his haircut. Mr. Pete Anderson truly represented and wore an Afro well. He had a head full of hair, his afro was always perfectly shaped, and looking good. After getting his hair cut sometimes my mother would serve food and lemon aide, and the men would sit...

Single Memorial Tree

Mr. Anderson was my 4th and 6th grade elementary school teacher at Highgrove Elementary. We might have been his first class. A group of us in those classes kept in touch with him over the years. I sent birthday and Christmas cards, and he always called me up after he received a card even this past May when it was getting more difficult for him to talk. I am ever thankful for the influence in my life as a person and as a teacher. I will miss our phone conversations. Deepest condolences to his...

My husband and I would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Anderson family. My family knew Mr. Anderson for many years as a great influencer in the Riverside community, it's school district as former employees and some as North HS students. I had the privilege of working with him and Glenn King at Emerson Elementary in the late 1970's. Both men dedicated themselves to the improvement of each student and individual they came in contact with. I continue to remember the five cent mini...

My former husband, Glenn King and I met Pete and his beautiful wife Diana as new UCR graduates in 1970. The UCR Education Department was initiating an accelerated teacher training program to bring more teachers of color into the Riverside Unified School District. Glenn was assigned to Emerson Elementary School that September, and he was extremely fortunate to have Pete as a mentor. He provided support and encouragement that first year, and the years that followed. They developed a close...
