Not sure what to say?

Thanks for your generousity Capt. which was the only name that I knew you by until you took us on a boat ride on the river last fall and even paid for a bus to pick us up at Lake Calhoun. It was fun just watching and listening to you in "your element". You'll be missed!

I shall represent the countless number of youth that Bill employed for summer jobs on his Riverboats over the past several decades. Thanks to Bill and his family for the opportunity and the fun times. 1979 Crew Member.

Farewell Captain. Your stories, wisdom, and life of passion and curiosity have inspired me each and everyday. I am so glad we were able to get the Legion of Honor recognition from the French Government last year - long overdue and so deserved. We will miss you, but we will never forget you and all you have done for so many.

"it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." -as quoted from Abraham Lincoln. You accomplished much with you life Uncle Bill and left quite a legacy.

We met you in the waiting room of Mayo Clinic this year. We had time to converse as you admired my service dog. It was delightful to hear stories about your life as we passed the time. Such an honor to meet you! Thanks for making that day and the waiting easier for us! God's love and peace be with you and your family!

From one Captain to another...Bon voyage.
