Not sure what to say?

I met Bill in Atlanta before we moved to Columbia in 1972. He found us a wonderful home on Woodlake Drive just off Trenholm Road, where we live until all the girls moved out of down. I think of The NineO´clocks and the fantastic times we had as Bachlers back then. We got together in Columbia to hunt for a new home and raise our three girls. Bill found the perfect place, and we lived there until they had moved away. We remained good friends until his passing. We will continue to remember...

Bill was a character in the best sense of the word. Always a fun fellow to run in to. He loved to tell and hear a good story. Thoughts go out to the family.

Willie was my hero in one important way. Except for him, only millionaires could afford to play polo. His rich friends included him on their teams not only for his athletic ability but, more importantly, because of his charming personality. He was much beloved by all. Alex Sanders

I am so sorry to hear about Bill. He was our realtor for all 3 of our houses. His personality was wonderful & we always enjoyed being with him. God Bless. Patti & Ron Giomi

We met Bill several years ago in Highlands. He was such a kind, friendly, and generous man. Bill was a true Southern Gentleman. We will miss him when we visit the mountains. Love and prayers to Margaret and family. Duane and Phyllis

Bill was a kind friend. He contacted me when he found something which he thought would be of interest to me and he was always right. Among many stories, a favorite was a photo expedition to a remote African desert outpost where the sole game warden wore a Clemson t-shirt.

A beautifully written obituary which so accurately and perfectly captures Bill's life. We send our condolences.

So sorry for your loss. I am a distant cousin. My grandmother Harriet (Hattie) Cain grew up in Pinopolis, married my grand- father Robert Wilson (IV) MD. Robert Wilson (VI), MD

I first met Bill in Atlanta where we were members of a Bachelor Club called the "Nine O´clocks". We had many grand times at the New Years Eve parties which lasted well into News Years day. We were thrilled to find out that Bill was here in Columbia when we moved here in 1972. He found us our home soon, and became very close friends again. We were very delighted when he married Margaret and both of them became a part of our group of good friends here in Columbia.
