Read MoreAs a long time neighbor of Bill, it was wonderful to hear Bill's stories of the time when Ripley Street was just a steep dirt road. He spoke out forcefully to preserve the 67 bus. When we'd see him on the street, he always had a twinkle in his eye. We will miss him. -- Evy & Doug

We had the honor or knowing Bill through the Bernal History Project. Bill was gracious to give of his time and talents and share many oral histories he had taken with our group. His passing is a great loss. Hoping his collection of oral histories are saved and donated to the San Francisco Public Library History Section. Sincerest, most heartfelt condolences to his family.
