William P. Cassidy
May 16, 1931-June 25, 2023. A SF native, Bill was a graduate of St. Peters Schools and SF State. A decorated U.S. Marine serving in the Korean War. Proud father of Eileen, Maureen (Art), Karen (John), William, Sharon & beautiful grandchildren & a cherished brother and uncle.
Bill was charismatic and loved by many for his keen sense of humor & quick wit. He donated much of his time to the underprivileged.
Friends may visit Tues, July 11 @Duggans Westlake, 4-8pm / vigil @ 6pm, July 12 @10am St. Pauls 221 Valley St, SF for a Celebratory mass with Committal & Military honors @ Mt. Olivet, San Rafael.

As a long time neighbor of Bill, it was wonderful to hear Bill's stories of the time when Ripley Street was just a steep dirt road. He spoke out forcefully to preserve the 67 bus. When we'd see him on the street, he always had a twinkle in his eye. We will miss him. -- Evy & Doug

We had the honor or knowing Bill through the Bernal History Project. Bill was gracious to give of his time and talents and share many oral histories he had taken with our group. His passing is a great loss. Hoping his collection of oral histories are saved and donated to the San Francisco Public Library History Section. Sincerest, most heartfelt condolences to his family. A friend will be sorely missed...

My most sincere condolences to the Cassidy Family. I knew Bill through the St. Peter´s Alumni. He became a good friend and I joined him in the St. Vincent de Paul group. He was a kind and generous gentleman. May he rest in peace.
