Not sure what to say?

I had not seen Ames in quite a few years but we worked together on the Miss NC Scholarship Pageant in the early 1990's. He had such a witt about him and made everyone smile & laugh. He will be greatly missed. My deepest condolensces to Bill, his family and friends.

Bill, I was saddened to learn about Ames. Our friendships go back many years now. I imagine this is a difficult time for you. I hope thinking about all the good times we shared will make the days to come brighter. I remember Ames fondly. Please let me or Sam know if there is anyting we can do to help. Caroline and I are so sorry. Ames was from a family we deeply love

Although we only met once, I could tell he was a very special man by the company he kept. I pray peace and comfort for all his loved ones who I'm sure miss him dearly.

Ames was a wonderful neighbor and great friend to my parents. He was thoughtful and loving. His efforts to make Oakwood and the world a better place will always be remembered and appreciated. I will always remember sitting in the music room listening to him playing the piano while I petted Toes. And who could forget the garden? My love to you Bill and may you have brighter days. Thanks for looking after Ames so well the last few years.

Ames was a great boss, mentor and colleague. I always loved his sense of humor. He will be missed.

I am sad to learn of the loss of a dear friend and colleague. Ames brought to the Commission of Indian Affairs outstanding expertise and background in operating employment and training programs which benefitted many NC Indian communities across the state. Ames was a fine person and this is a sad loss for all of us.
