Not sure what to say?

I loved our Bible study times in the Davenport living room. I still pass along my favorite lesson he taught from Colossians that of course included lots of scientific illustrations. Sorry I learned too late of his passing to be there for you, Susan and family.

Dr. Davenport was a wonderful, loving man of GOD. He loved C-ville and he loved his kids at the college. Carol and I had the wonderful fortune to be there when he was leading the college. Years after we had graduated, we came home to visit, and in the middle of a visit with a dignitary from a foreign country, he excused himself and spent 10 minutes with us. That meant the world to us, because he treated us like the extended family we were. In the years to follow, I had accepted a...

So very thankful for Dr. Davenport's life and witness, and the obvious Christian attributes that shine through his family, especially our daughter-in-law, Abbie Stovall. Our prayers are with the whole family.

Randy was the personification of a Christian. He was a disciple, he was becoming a disciple and he made disciples. We were fortunate to have known Randy and to be influenced by him for many years. My wife and I were blessed by his friendship in our lives. His faith in Jesus Christ, his compassion for others and his quick wit are what we will always remember. Well done good and faithful servant. Our condolences to those who loved him.

Randy was a blessing to many. His influence in The Gideons International extended far past the three years of his presidency. He was shared his wisdom freely, was a mentor to many, and a blessing to all he meet.

Our beloved "Dr. D." was the very best president of Campbellsville College, during my years in Campbellsville and at the college...He always had a sweet, compassionate smile and such a genuine caring manner and countenance - showing Jesus' love and light to everyone around him!
His office door and home were always open and he still recognized and carried on "meaningful, relevant conversations"-even in the last few yrs.
My heart remembers the Sundays that I sat on the same pew...

My thoughts and prayers go out to Dr. Davenport's family and friends. He was an excellent President at Campbellsville University and he will be greatly missed.

On behalf of all the Chowning family and all of the church family of Saloma Baptist Church, Cathy and I extend our prayers and heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Davenport and all of the extended Davenport family. Dr. Davenport was an exemplary Christian servant leader in all areas of his life. His time as Campbellsville University (College) president, leadership of Gideons International, faithful service at Campbellsville Baptist Church, and involvement in many areas of community activity,...
