WILLIAM EDWARDS Obituary
He was born in Red Bluff on Oct. 15, 1920. Parents were Pearl and Lizzie Edwards.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Manya, daughter and son-in-law; Bonnie and Dave Dunlap, daughter; Libby Reynolds, daughter; Stefani Rochrich. Sons; George Edwards, Rick and wife Shelly Edwards. Also his younger brother Budd Edwards. Brother-in-law Albert Pocoroba, and sister-in-law Barbara Miller. Grandchildren; Andy Thornton, Tiffany Leamer, Mathew Roynolds, Teresa Edwards, William Roehrich, Shelbi Roehrich, Sandy Edwards, Rona Edwards, Sara and Matthew Edwards. Three great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews.
Bill served in WWII from 1942-1945. He was detached from the Navy (Seabees') to the Marines. He operated heavy equipment in Guam. He received honors in several situations.
After the military, Bill settled in Sacramento and began a 28 year career as a butcher. He then moved to Paynes Creek on the Supan Ranch where he started his career in logging.
His love was his specialty, cat-skinning. He operated D-7's and D-8's for Pat Forward, Phil Stickels and Diamond International.
After 15 years of logging he took on numerous jobs in the Paynes Creek area, usually to help people rather than for money.
He and his brother Al loved their vegetable gardening, canning and sharing the leftovers with all.
He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his wife, family and friends.

Viewing is Friday, February 1, 2008 from 5-8 pm at the Chapel of the Flowers.
He will be cremated. A celebration of life will be March 1, 2008 at 2 pm at the Elk's Lodge in Red Bluff.

Manya, Stef, Will & Shelbi- my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this hard time. He is a great man, and will be missed.
