It was my privilege to work with Bill at Bell Labs, as his technical aide, from 1964 to 1970. During that time, I learned to respect and admire him, not just for his superior engineering skills but also for the genuinely outstanding human being that he was. My world, our world was a much better place because of him. My sincere condolences to Kristi, his spouse Marie and his family; may he rest in peace.
