We were lucky enough to have the privilege and honour of meeting Bill and Gretchen Kimball when they came to London with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation for the Queen's Golden Jubilee in 2002. In spite of Bill's infirmity, he took part enthusiastically in all the activities with huge enjoyment, marvellous humour and was an enormous inspiration to all of us who were lucky enough to make his acquaintance.
