Not sure what to say?

Death of a loved one, especially a husband and father, normally brings sorrow and loneliness. Nevertheless, there are many verses of scripture that are helpful in bringing comfort and peace to those who are bereaved. May we share some of these thoughts as we think of William Truman Logan?

“And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” (Matthew 6: 28-29)

“I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.” (Song of Solomon 2: 1)

Friday, August 11, 2006, the gates of heaven opened, and Truman Logan met his “Rose of Sharon” and his “Lily of the Valleys” face to face. The angels in heaven rejoiced as they welcomed Truman home. Now, without pain or suffering, he is taking in the beauty of it all. Do we not have much to be thankful for?

“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”

(Revelation 14:13)

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believeth thou this?” (John 11: 25-26)

O, death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

(I Corinthians 15: 55)

We send our love and sympathy to Priscilla and her family, and to Truman’s brothers and families.
