Not sure what to say?

Dear Barbara, Bill and Susan,
Anne and I were very saddened to hear of Woody's passing and extend our heartfelt sympathies to your family. Mom and Dad surely enjoyed the time spent with Woody over the years and I was always happy that we had a such a good friend (and fishing buddy) in Woody. He will be remembered most fondly!
Best Regards,
Bud

DEAREST BARBARA, BILL AND SUSAN:
MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO ALL. MY
THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU.
IF I CAN BE OF ANY COMFORT, PLEASE
LET ME KNOW. LOVE ALWAYS,
MARY POLLARD (MRS GUS POLLARD)

Dear Barbara,
What a wonderful couple and what a marvelous guy. About once a year we would get an early morning knock on the door. Woody had gone to the Donegal lowgrounds to hunt. He had done his "hunting", was cold, and ready for coffee with a splash of something warm. We could take care of that pretty quick and with the coffee came the wonderful and witty conversation. Times and a man to remember. Our family express our deep sympathy but we bet he's right now making someone laugh. ...

Dear Barbara, Bill, and Susan,

My deepest sympathies to you all. My parents have greatly appreciated Woody's and your friendship over the years and our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Love,

Joy

Dear Sue, Jimmy and family,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours today and in the days to come. I have heard many wonderful things about your Dad from my sister, Liz, and I know that he will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. Fondly,

Although I was sent to Woodberry "in shackles & chains", good friends like Woody made my 3 years tolerable. He was faster in the 100 hurdles than I was in the 100 yd dash, which hurt, but what a great, fun,& funny guy!

To our extended family, Barbara, Bill, Susan, and Jimmy, we will always treasure our times with you in Hatteras......cocktail hours, poker playing, pumpkin carving, singing along with Jimmy till all hours , and eating lots of good food..... Woody's hugs were the best. He will be missed by all the friends he made down here, our thoughts are with you all.

We had a lot of fun together at Woodberry and UVA - and all the years since then! I will really miss my old buddy.

Woody & I were good friends for many years from high school to the present. He will be greatly missed as a friend and a banker to me.
Barbara, I still think of you & Woody when we gave those New Year Eve party at Alumni Hall every year.
