William O'Ryan Obituary

Services for William H. O'Ryan, 86, of Willoughby, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Mr. O'Ryan passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Ivy House in Painesville.
Born March 2, 1928, in Springfield, he had lived in Wickliffe for 17 years and Windsor for 17 years, with brief stops in Chardon and Mentor before moving to Willoughby 13 years ago.
He was a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School, class of 1947 and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
William was an avid woodworker, loved flowers and enjoyed gardening.
Mr. O'Ryan taught industrial arts at the junior and senior high school level, and retired from Jefferson High School in 1988.
Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Janet (Hurless) O'Ryan; son, William H. (Wanda) O'Ryan and grandsons, Brennen and Connor, all of Willoughby; brother, Jack (Beverly) O'Ryan and sister, Catherine Horning. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marjory (Bradford) O'Ryan and brother, Morton O'Ryan.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014, at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park, Mayfield Village.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106.
