William Purvis Obituary


WILLIAM R. "BILL" PURVIS, II, of Charleston, passed away January 22, 2026 at Emogene Dolin Hospice House Huntington with his family by his side.
He was born April 2, 1960, in Huntington, the son of William and Barbara Moore Purvis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Linda.
He is survived by his siblings, Timothy Purvis (Tina), Charla Pflum (Paul), Barbette Slone (James), Chuck Purvis (Krista), Margo Arbogast (Larry), sons Joshua Purvis, Benjamin Purvis, and daughter Tara Dawn Jordan, 5 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bill was a US Army Veteran. Bill was an independent truck owner/operator and eventually retired from Fed Ex where he received several safe driving awards. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time on his boat and his Harley. Bill loved music, playing his guitar and writing music.
Celebration of Bill's life will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home, Cross Lanes. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 1 p.m., until time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Kanawha County Humane Society.
