February 10, 1942 - November 30, 2021
Elgin, South Carolina - Even though he fought to the end, it is with deep remorse and great sadness that the family of William Franklin Sawyer, III (BUZZ) has to inform you that he took his last breath and went to be with our Lord and Savior very peacefully on Tuesday, November 30th at 2:00. He was surrounded by his wife Dana, son Tom and lifelong friend Richard Abney.
Buzz had many heart issues since the mid 1990's and slowly started to decline with different health issues due to being heavily exposed to Agent Orange while serving for the Army as a Tunnel Rat in Vietnam in the late 1960's.
His chosen career was always in sales and that boy knew how to sell!!!
On June 10, 1989, he married his "Bride", and they were married for 32 plus years.
Due to Neuropathy, which was created by Agent Orange, he eventually had to give up his two passions that he dearly loved…..dancing and playing golf.
Predeceased was his Mother, Christine Evers Buckwell and Stepfather Joe Buckwell of Salisbury, NC along with his Father, William Franklin Sawyer, Jr. and Stepmother, Dorothy Reid Sawyer of Spartanburg, SC.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Dana of Columbia, SC / North Myrtle Beach, SC, his son, Tom, daughter in-law Brandi and grandson, Will of Greenville, SC that he was so proud of!!! Buzz also had extended family members as well as many friends that he loved so much.
A Celebration of Life, in Buzz's honor, will be determined at a later date due to this Pandemic.

We´re so sorry to hear of the passing of our dear friend Buzz,Sam played many rounds of golf with Buzz and we enjoyed watching he and Dana skate the boards at Duck´s and Thirsty´s!Buzz will always rank up there with all the stylist who danced at North Myrtle beach.RIP our friend!
