Not sure what to say?

I knew Bill for almost 20 years, but met him many years ago when he was just starting out on his post-graduate career. We spent many hours enjoying discussions about all kinds of sports, and even ran in the Bay to Breakers once (he smoked me, even though I finished in the top 10%!) Although we lost touch effectively, years ago, I always remember Bill as a kind, friendly person who will always remain a "cousin" in spirit.

Bill was a student of mine at Wright State University.I recently came across a letter of reference I wrote for him for law school. This is from that letter: Bill is an intelligent, articulate individual with a unique combination of wit and enthusiasm.
My condolences to the family

Bill was one of the most genuine men I've known. He was that rare balance of responsible and "light hearted/fun-lovingness". I hold and cherish wonderful memories of him, and know that all who call him a friend have been blessed.

We have lost a great Delt. Rest in peace, Bill.

Worked with Bill on a number of patent cases as an expert. Really enjoyed working with him, a true gentleman. We used to tease each other on OSU vs. KU (Kansas University). He always won on FB and I think I cam out ahead in BB. It is cancer cases like Bill's that make us work hard to be able address the issues of cancer treatments. I know Bill was very dedicated to his family. Please accept my condolences.

I was a coworker of Bills and enjoyed working with him. He was always in the Super Bowl pools and always included his family. They usually won every year. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Maureen, I am so sorry to learn of your loss. I am thinking of you and the children.

I met Bill through a running group in Irvine in the late 90s. I have many fond memories of long training runs for marathons and other races. He was a great running partner and friend. My deepest condolences to the Scarff family.

I'm so sorry Carrie for your loss
