Not sure what to say?

I remember Coach Settle. I have held his word in my heart for some 40 years “you race like you train”.

Dear Mrs. Settles and Family,
Learning of Steve's passing certainly left me with a heavy heart! It was one of the most dedicated professionals I had the pleasure of working with in the PGCPS district! He was ALWAYS there to help the schools, administrators all in the name of safety for the children. He was missed when he left the system. He will certainly be missed from our earthly experience.

God bless you and your family and thank you for sharing him with us.

Mary and family, my sincere condolences on the loss of your husband. I know from hearing you talk about Steve just how special he was to you. Words cannot express the sadness I feel for your loss. Linda Smith (Bowie, MD)

Mary, Mary, Mary

I'm still processing the thought that Steve is no longer with us. He was indeed a good brother in Christ at Emmanuel to all that really got to know him. I have fond memories of him as a trustee. I was on the board when he joined. He sat quietly for a few Sundays...then the Steve that I came to know emerged. He kept us laughing as we worked with his quick wit. If we were moving too slow...I can hear him saying "what's up I got to get going before you know my boys are...

Mary,

So sorry to hear of the passing of your husband. Trust completely in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and He will strengthen and keep you during this time and always. You and your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

With love and prayers.

Mrs. Settle and family. Mr. Settle was like a father to me. Always impressing the need to be saved and close to God. He was a "Jokester", always offering me up on the basketball court or the track. He taught me many life lessons through our long talks, and just advice on various subject matters. He clowned me about almost anything, and the fact I am a NC A&T Aggie, but most of all he always had great advise, and was there for me in some of my most difficult times. I'll miss him deeply, but...

Mrs. Settle,
Words fail me in expressing how sorry I am for your loss. I had only known you and your husband for half an hour when God, in His wisdom, took Mr. Steve from this life. I am so grateful that I was able to meet him, if only briefly...but there will be eternity! Please know that I am praying for you and your family continually.
Sincerely,
