Cynthia: So very sad. My friendship with Bill was the longest I had with any otherm person---from 1st grade to our time together at Pitt and then trough all the years since. I pray the Lord speeds your healing and since we
know that Bill is with him, I'm certain that will be the case. Bless you.

Cynthia,
To you and to Bill's family I offer my deepest sympathy. I was a friend of Bill's from high school through current days when we both were professors at Slipopery Rock and in the Antiques Field. Bill was a great person, always with a witty remark. He
was an outsstanding teacher and person who would be there if you needed him. I hope you will do well in your not having him in your physical life---however you have a lifetime of memories and a spiritual connection that can never be broken.
Feel free to contct me if you wish.
God's Peace,
Tootie Betres

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. We were so sad to hear of Bill's passing today. I always enjoyed our chats about antiques. My favorite memory is of him laughing at the Harmony show re: the new antique term that I coined. May your memories comfort you through the hard times.

Cynthia,
what a shock. Back to Burton and our talk it was yesterday. I have respected Bill for many years. A great attitude concerning life. May you have a comfortable as possible transition to life without Bill. It will be difficult. I certainly offer my condolences. Lee

Dear Cynthia : So very sorry to learn of Bill's death. He was a dear friend and faculty colleague of the late Fr. Pat McCarthy, PhD, an assistant pastor at my church. Whenever I was in high school, I worked in the church office in the afternoons. Bill visited Fr. McCarthy, often; so, I well remember being regaled by many of his stories. He was so witty. I was impressed, that for all of his academic background, he never spoke to me, a young teenager, in a condescending manner. And, many years later, he still remembered me and still treated me very kindly. He will be missed. With deepest sympathy.
