William Stooksbury

Knoxville, TN

William Paul Stooksbury, age 86, of Knoxville, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on November 21, 2015. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Navy and an active member of Buffat Heights Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by parents, Monroe Lewis Stooksbury and Maybelle Satterfield Stooksbury and wife of 53 years, Carolyn Broach Stooksbury. Survivors: sons, David E. Stooksbury, Richard L. and wife Jamie Stooksbury and Howard Q. and wife Linda Stooksbury; daughters, Cynthia Sharpin and husband Donald and Becky L. Stooksbury; grandchildren: Kelly and Jordan Fife, Jessica and Gabe Palmer, Mandy and Eric Haugen, Stephanie and Denny Paul, Stacy and fiancé Wes Lawson, Rachel and Joey Bucciero, and Jacob, Caitlyn, Cheyann and Seane Stooksbury and Amber and Tiffany Stooksbury; several great-grandchildren; wife of 8 years, Stella Gaut Stooksbury. Special thanks to the caregivers at NHC Holston Rehab Center and caregivers of the Associated Care Sitting Service.

The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City with service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Pastor Dave Thomas officiating. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery at 10:45 a.m., Tuesday for interment at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Buffat Heights Operation Christmas Child. Arrangements by Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City.
