Not sure what to say?

Oh Mr. Tuohy, you were my favorite teacher in junior high. You always made us laugh, and I'll never forget your "take your books and shove them!...under your desks". I was blessed to have had you for 8th grade English. May you rest in peace, dear soul!

I was Mr. Tuohy's student in Glades in 7th grade in 1985. I just found an old blurry picture of him and came across this website. I still remember the spelling competitions. Also one day when I was sick he suggested I go home and sit in a bath and have a shot of whisky. He made quite an impression. I'm grateful for having known him.

I knew Bill in the early seventies when we lived in the Jade Gardens apartments in South Miami. He was a totally awesome friend and gentleman. My future wife, Holly, and I posed for pictures that he used in a couple of books of his poetry. We left Miami for the wild West and fell out of touch, our bad. Bill was a true renaissance man. Bob Newman.

I went to Glades from 1969-1972. It was the best school thinking back on it now, and Mr. Tuohy´s English class was exciting. Bye, bye, American Pie!

Sincere Condolences to the family of Mr. Tuohy. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope the memories you have bring you joy and comfort. I was in his Spanish class at Glades Middle School. He taught us so much more than Spanish. I loved when he showed us his slide shows with music. My memories of him at Glades have always been cherished. He was a favorite teacher who understood children. May he rest in peace.

Every time I hear the sing "To Sir With Love" I think of Mr Tuohy and his slide shows! I was at Glades from 1973 to 1976 and still remember Mr Tuohy! 72 is way to soon to lose such a legend.

I still miss you every single day, Jeffery Lord Barbara Harris (Gillian)

One of my best friends growing up in Brainerd in the 40s and 50s.

Bill was my life long friend, who also served as the best man at my wedding. We grew up together in Chicago, enjoyed every facet of the city, and in 1967, we both moved to Miami, Florida; a city that we both loved. Several years later, my job took me away from Miami, but our friendship remained as strong as ever. At least once a year I would visit Bill in Miami. In 2004, my wife and I moved back to Miami, at which time Bill and I were able to continue our great friendship in our favorite...
