I think I speak for all of the family of William F. Tyree when I say our Grandpa was the most influential, big hearted, and charitable man I have ever met in my life. Reminsicing with the family through the loss of our Grandpa has brought tears of joy and sadness. With 8 children, 27 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 on the way, memories and bonds have been made that I don't think any other family can amount to. The Long Island Volunteer Hall of Fame acknowledges the loss of one of its most treasured inductees, William Tyree, who championed the common good and through steely determination as a volunteer ensured an important legacy of service supporting Madonna Heights and SCO.
