William Webster Obituary

William Harden Webster, II "Bill" CHARLOTTE - William Harden "Bill" Webster, II, age 60, passed from his earthbound existence surrounded by his devoted wife and caregiver, Mary Reynolds Webster, and his beautiful daughter, Abigail Hope Webster, on Sept. 10, 2012. He is survived by his wife; his daughter; his sister, Elizabeth Miller, Atlanta; an uncle, Denny Webster, Matthews; in-laws, John and Jeanne Reynolds, Charlotte; sisters-in-law, Kath-leen Turner (David) and Patricia Jetton (Will), Charlotte; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. For most of his adult life, Bill was known as a prolific professional photographer, but he was also a poet, song writer, philosopher, teacher, and amateur astronomer. His family will receive friends on Friday, September 14, 2012, from 6-8 p.m., at the McEwen Funeral Service-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC. A memorial service will be held at a later time and more information will be provided at that time. Mary wishes to thank all the friends and family who have shown us love and support throughout Bill's illness and beyond. In lieu of flowers, Bill asked that any memorials in his name be made to The Allegro Foundation, 3121 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28211 or to the donor's favorite charity. Bill's final wish was that all Americans will learn to work together for a common good and that all people make time to appreciate the only two things that are meaningful in life-family and friends. Condolences to the family may be offered at www.mcewenpinevillechapel.com.

Mary and Abby,
Bill and I were at Coastal Carolina and did several theater productions together.
As you know, he was gifted in so many aspects of life- I will always treasure our friendship-
We "pal'd around" together for as long he was in MB. So many
good times with theater, music,
and photography. I could go on
and on, but I just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you.
I'm sure he is going to be present in spirit forever.

I first met Bill as a classmate at Edison. That smile and energy were impressive and never waned during the passing years. I saw him last year at a class gathering and he was extending words of comfort and encouragement to me on the loss of my mother. His words were truly uplifting and peace giving. May you find comfort in your memories and remembrances of his loving and courageous spirit.

I have a son named Bill Webster. Your Bill and I bonded over that fact as he took real estate pictures of me beginning in 1993. He has taken every one of my photos over the years. He was such fun to talk to, and he shared how much joy you and your daughter brought to him. I was saddened to read the obituary but so impressed with all that he accomplished. I'm sure his legacy will remain and inspire. Please accept my sympathy.

Mary,
I was so sorry to hear of Bill's passing yesterday. Bill was such good friend to me when I was in Charlotte. He and I shared a lot of interests and I'll never forget the cool music cassette tapes he used to make for me. He & I jammed at his studio one day. He was playing guitar and I was trying to keep up on the drum kit. I think he was really surprised that I could actually play drums! I ran into Bill Moretz (in Charlottesville VA) a couple of years ago. He has a camera store over there. He told me Bill was not well and he called me yesterday to break the news. Thank you again (to both of you) for being my closest friends while in was in Charlotte and thereafter. I'll always have fond memories of Billy! Wish you and Abby the best...

An extraordinary human being, and a wonderful photographer. He will be missed by many. Peace and love to you both in this hard transition.

What a privilege it was earlier this year to do a painting of Bill doing what he loved - his photography. I knew then that I had to meet Bill in person since I'd heard so much about him from Denise, and had also seen his wonderful photography. Was delighted to be able to meet him at your Open House earlier this year and will always remain thankful that I did. I know he will be missed greatly and I pray many good memories and the unparalleled peace of God will sustain you and Abby during this time.

Dear Mary and Abby,

We are so sorry for your loss. My heart sank as soon as I saw the beautiful flowers on Facebook. I am so thankful that we had a chance to see you three in the summer and I wish that we were there now to support you. While I did not know Bill as well as others who are posting, my fondest memory is from a BBQ that you hosted at your house the year before we moved. Towards the end of the evening, he spontaneously decided to conduct a professional photo shoot of the remaining guests and I was instantly struck by his vibrant, warm and outgoing personality. I saw the same qualities just a few months ago when he played with our daughter. We love you and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We will remember Bill as a treasured member of our Charlotte Latin 'family', always professional and so talented at capturing the perfect shot at so many school events. Many of us relied on him for special senior portraits which will be forever cherished. He was a valiant warrior who fought a long and courageous battle. We offer our prayers and extend our very deepest sympathy to his wife, daughter and family. God Bless.

Mary, I share in the loss of your beloved husband, Bill; and Abby, the loss of your loving Daddy. Bill was like a brother to me in high school and my friend for more than 45 years. He had his own brand of wit and humor; he was a true as a giant sequoia tree. He taught us how to find meaning in life, accept life's challenges, and how to meet our own mortality. I especially enjoyed talking with Bill about music, and about space, the stars, and the universe, and I am faithfully comforted knowing that he now fully experiences first hand the wonders and mysteries of our Creator for all of time. Peace and blessings to each of you for your special care and love for Bill. His goodness will sustain you.

Bill was the photographer at my first wedding. The wedding didn't last but our memories of how wonderful Bill was did. He came to my parents house several years later, after I had remarried and had children. He took beautiful pictures of my parents and children that day. They were four at the time and are eight now. When I told them of Bill's passing, they both remembered how much he made them laugh that day. His passion for his work showed. He also spoke so fondly of Mary and Abby. Our prayers go out to them and the rest of his family during this time.
