Bill worked for nearly 40 years in various sales and management capacities, initially for Cowles Chemical Company of Cleveland, OH, ultimately retiring as District Sales Manager for Stauffer Chemical Company in 1983. Bill's love and passionate hobby was barbershop quartet singing. He was a highly active member of the SPEBSQSA for more than 68 years. In 1946 Bill joined his first quartet with his brother Bob, collectively known as the "Frequently Flat Four." He then helped found the Providence, RI chapter in 1948. He recruited talent and formed the "Noblemen" quartet in 1951, which later won the Northeastern District Championship in 1953. He was certified as a Harmony Accuracy Judge in 1957 and judged for many contests including Dixie, Sunshine, and the International Contest in San Antonio, Texas. He was a member of the "High Tones" quartet until 1961 when he moved to Georgia and joined the Atlanta Peachtree Chapter. In 1983 he became a member of the Roswell Harmony Brigade where he drew constant enjoyment singing and laughing with his barbershop friends. He had just recently been re-elected to his second term as Music VP, and was the "Dining Meister" in charge of organizing the weekly dinner gatherings. He also proudly held the title of "Chapter Curmudgeon." In addition to singing, Bill had other musical interests. For over 20 years, Bill was Chairman of the Roswell - Alpharetta Chapter of the National Federation of Music Club's annual festival, serving 33 teachers and over 500 students each year in hosting piano and voice competitions to inspire and encourage the love of music in today's youth. A former member of Berkley Hills Country Club, Brookfield West Country Club, and Polo Golf and Country Club, Bill was also an avid golf enthusiast. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 6th at 3:00 p.m. in the Roswell Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm til service time. Dearest Nancy, Kim, and family: It is with sadness that I just learned of Bill's passing. I remember with fondness our being neighbors. We saw Bill about a year ago out eating with his pals, the barbershop group I suppose, and we said hello. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Kim, I especially remember you growing up.Dana is married and lives in Nashville, has two girls, Ella, 6 and Eden 4. Ryan is married and lives in St. Louis, has two boys, Joshua, 2, and Connor, almost 5 months. Tyler married last year and lives in Woodstock. I know you will miss Bill, but know that the memories of him will give you peace and comfort.
With love, Bo and Joy Bolick

What an inspiration Bill was in the way he lived such a full life. He is leaving a rich heritage for us to remember him by. From the very young to the senior in age, he was involved musically. I am sure he is busy organizing the "Heavenly Harmony" barbershop quartet at this moment.
