Not sure what to say?

Mr. Alling, as we knew him in 5th grade at Riverdale Country School in 1968, asked his students to compare and contrast McCartney´s Yesterday and Lennon´s I Am the Walrus. I don´t remember what we came up with but I have always remembered the exercise, from a time when a friend was sent home for wearing a turtleneck instead of the required shirt and tie. Alling was clearly enlightened in ways we didn´t quite yet understand, spreading his enlightenment in what I soon recognized as subtilely...

Good Bye Wilson!Rest in the peace and love of God always!

I was shocked and deeply saddened today when I heard about Wilson's death in early October. I've known him since I was a teenager at Greenwich Country Day school. Wilson was a great teacher and an all around great guy. I know he will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him including myself.I will keep fond memories of him near and dear to my
heart forever and he will always be in my thoughts and prayers. My most sincere condolences to Wilson's family!May God bless you and...

We have lost a kindred spirit, who was gracious, trustworthy and a mentor to our community and my children . My his soul rest in peace and his life remembered by all he helped.

I was shocked and deeply saddened today to hear of Wilson's passing earlier in October. I met Wilson while an incoming 7th grader at Riverdale Country School in 1971. I arrived at RCS academicaly confused having spent my previous school years in french/english bilingual schools. Without Wilson's intervention and his dedication to me I would never have succeeded in acclimating to RCS' academic demands. In fact, I am certain the skills I learned from him contributed to my success throughout...

In my thoughts of Wilson there are no words to express enough this kind, warm and giving gentle man. He was the shepard with his flock, arms outstretched and for those in need ,gathering them close. My children ,John, Deven , Tally and Kemper carry within the treasured gift of Wilson. Tally and Wilson shared a unique bond .G.C.D.S. ,summers in Maine and years beyond into his college years. The light of this gentle man was felt and shined on so, so many. Our love to Patty, his family and to all...

I first met Wilson at the annual HBA picnics held on Ram Island. I later had the privilege of doing some projects and Wilson and I became very good friends. I also met Dakota Wilson's 4 legged companion. Dakota and I would share coffee and lunch breaks. She would also meet me when I arrived and would see me off when I left. Time went on and Dakota passed on early one Summer. She went on ahead. Wilson called me and said next time you are in town I need you to help me with something on Ram. I...

Wilson Alling was the most sterling of persons, full of varied interests, special insights and such a wonderful role model to all who crossed paths with him during his G.C.D.S. years. His generosity and graciousness will always be with those whom he instructed in ways both small and grand.
