Not sure what to say?

Dear Cathy,
It was with great sadness that I read about Zane's passing this morning. You and he were such wonderful people to have worked with. It goes without saying that Zane will be missed by many. May he rest in peace, and my deepest sympathies to you.

We just found out this evening. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. He touched a lot of lives in the community. Chris, Jaimie, Grady, Keaton and Cody Waller

Occasionally in life you encounter a family so exceptional and full of Christlike love that you will always remember the mark that they made on your life. The Shaeffer family is one of those amazing families that I have been blessed to meet in this life. Zane and his family not only had such Christlike love, but they all went above and beyond to share it with others. All of us missionaries will always remember the way that you loved us and helped in the missionary effort. I am confident...

Dear Cathy and family,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you pass through this phase of life. He was always so friendly toward everyone, kind, considerate, loving, helpful, and always willing to go beyond the expectation of duty. God bless you all.

No silence calms the aching heart

So often, I would find Zane fixing, building, moving, lifting, hammering, drilling, or simply "taking care of" us at Harvest Ridge Charter School. Things that were such a project for the "gals" at school to manage, would be so easy for Zane! I can laugh out loud when I think about the time Cathy and I kept directing "a little left, no up, now over a bit more..." as good natured Zane tried to hang the oversized white board in our staff room! Zane simply smiled at us and finally just drilled...

Zane was a friend and a client of ours for several years. We enjoy Zane's sense of self and his fun sense of humor on many subjects as well as his role as a General Contractor. I enjoyed doing Zane's engineering on many projects.
We will miss him greatly.

About 6 years ago Brotthe & Sister Shaffer opened their homes to us as they always do to the missionaries and ever since then there is a part in my heart for this family. Brother Shaffer you will always be remembered and my prayers will continue to be with my beloved friend Cathy. God be with you. Much love.
