Gene came into our lives when we moved to Naples in 1990. We met him at his daughter's (Nancy) Thanksgiving dinner that year. We didn't see him often but whenever we did, he always remembered us and seemed genuinely interested in what we were doing, how we were, etc. His kindness was way beyond the norm and he always had a smile for us.
