Anita and family,
Sorry I missed calling hours and service. I had pain injections. I miss my good buddy so much. I am confident he is now getting his share of raw oysters on the half shell.

I'm so sorry for your loss

My association with Ed came many years ago he the teacher and I merely just the student. I am very grateful to have known Ed so well for so long, if he taught me anything it was simply that life is unpredictable and doesn't always go as planned. Ed was a man of character and honor he played as hard as he worked and enjoyed life to the very fullest. If you know Ed as I,you know he lived his life to the very fullest “his way”. What I learned from his illness, was how much was still left after so much had been taken away. He was still Ed all the way thru it just had to be “his way” Honorable, respectful, kind and most importantly forgiving.
Although you will be sorely missed by all those left behind. Your legacy lives on thru your grandchildren. May they always cherish your guidance as I, and continue to make you proud.
I ask: Lord if there is beer in heaven poor one for my friend tell him it is from me. Place your hand on him comfort him, we here left behind will be just fine. Guide him as he guided me….his forgiveness will not be forgotten in my life…..Until we meet again Ed God Bless

Such sad news. The descriptions leader, mentor and friend show up over and over again in these messages. They are the very same impressions I took away from my association with Ed at Owens Corning. He was genuine, the kind of man you were proud to work with, and a tremendous asset for the company. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Anita: I feel so honored to have shared so much of my life with you and Ed. From his staying at the ATO house at Wittenberg, while we double dated, to your home in Three Meadows which backed up on ours. Also having our daughters playing softball together. Such wonderful memories. Hold them close and cherish them always. Dave Wise

Really sad news...I think he took me for $5 at Belmont the last time I played there but it was worth it a hundred times over. A true good guy who was always fun to be associated with. My prayers are for his family. He was a great influence on everyone who worked with him.

I had the pleasure of knowing Ed for a number of years at Owens Corning. He personified the kind of Leader who made OC a company to be proud, very proud to be part of. He truly cared about people, and was an extraordinary mentor to many.

Dad, you demonstrated such high morals and values to our family. I miss you so much! But you created a strong family, who because of all your hard work and love, we will be ok. And you picked the PERFECT wife- our mom anita Mirra!!! She took such amazing care of you. And all four of "we" children loved and respected you incredibly much!! As your baby, youngest child, I will always remember how you took such great care of me. WHAT A LIFE!! It was amazing!! Thank you dad!! My eternal love!!!

Rest in Peace Ed. Your faith in me brought me to Toledo in the 90's and I learned a great deal about business management working for you.

My deepest sympathy to Ed's family. He was one of my finest "bosses" at OCF and a fellow member of Epworth for many years. May his legacy of "fairness" carry on forever.
