New Smyrna - Frances Crawford Fixaris passed on ahead on Friday, December 18, 2020 in New Smyrna. Frances was born October 19, 1931 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania. She grew up living with her parents, brother and sister in Sunbury and then Berwick, Pennsylvania before going to Susquehanna University. She graduated from Susquehanna receiving her bachelor's degree in music performance and education. Fran taught music in Pennsylvania, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, and Florida. She also had a career in broadcasting working at station WVII or channel 7 in Bangor, Maine, even having her own show called Fran's World. Fran sang in many places including in New York City for Leonard Bernstein and in Miami for the Opera Guild of Greater Miami. Later in life Fran became a watercolor artist working with the Artist's Workshop in New Smyrna Beach. She particularly liked to see the colors in the world around her and she liked to play the Bach suites on her piano. Fran loved her music, her dog, her friends, the beach, and living in New Smyrna Beach.

Frances was predeceased by her parents Homer and Frances Drumm, her two husbands, and her brother and sister. She is mourned by her friends, her nieces and nephews and their families.
