Don Heppner and I worked together at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in 1949. We had attended the Air Force Radar School in Biloxi, Mississippi. In June of 1950, the Korean War started and we two were flown out to Travis AFB in California and then to a small base on Yerba Buena Island. We shipped out together on the way to Asia, where we served on a B-29 base, living in tents on the island of Okinawa for two years. I lost track of Don after that.

Sten and I enjoyed squaredancing with you both.
Don's friendly voice with his New York accent was a comfort to me since I am from Brooklyn. We are so deeply sorry for your loss, Vi.

Vi and family,
We were so sorry to hear of Don's passing.
It is our prayer that you will be comforted by many sweet memories of your life together.
We will always remember his smile and the fun we shared line dancing over the years. May God bless you all!
