George was born December 7, 1932 to Paul and Thelma Radon in Grants Pass, Oregon and went to be with his Lord and Savior July 28, 2018. His birthdays after 1941 were not especially happy since he lost his uncle Clyde Mastel in the bombing at Pearl Harbor.
George joined the Air Force after high school and worked as a fireman in the service. Since then he worked as a cement mason while working his way through school at Brookes Institute in Santa Barbara. After school, George became an abalone diver which ended up leading to a life on Catalina Island for 10 years. On Catalina he was a Harbor Patrolman and Shoreboat driver while continuing to enjoy a life on the ocean. In 1979 George got the opportunity to buy his nephews boat yard back in Santa Barbara and participate in the family boat building business started by his brother Ron Radon. Retiring and closing the boatyard in 1997, George was able to focus on his artwork which had been an ongoing hobby for many years and what gave him much joy. He was an active member in the Santa Barbara and Goleta art associations.
George leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Ruth, daughters Carolyne and Julie, and 7 grandchildren.
