Well Robert,,,,I am glad that I was able to share the STAGE with you as many times as I did at Cafe Nine, playing the drums, and having a wonderful time, with my girlfriend Betsey.
Well Robert, " Start off the beat for the "Crosscut Saw", and let's jam
already! " We are all waiting to see you in heaven!
You were one great blues player on that Telecaster!
May God bless you - forever.

I will never forget those wonderful Sunday night blues sessions at the Cafe
Nine. Did not want to go home! And Robert, you were the only person that I knew who could go on and on about Leonard Cohen, my favorite subject, at that time. Hallelujah, Robert Crotty....

I appreciate the joy that Robert's music gave to my mom, and others, when he and Lynn came to the Woodbridge Assisted Living facility where my mom lives.

I've known Bobby since high school. I've worked with Bobby and his fellow musicians for many years. I was lucky enough to see him perform two weeks before his passing. A gentle soul and a true musical spirit. He was my favorite guitarist and he can never be replaced. Bless you Bobby for what you given all of us. LOVE

Robert taught me how to tune my guitar on the 5th fret when we were knee-high to grasshoppers. We jammed for hours in his basement and in mine. As I settled into my role as the bass player...Robert's guitar career launched him into the stratosphere and he's never looked back. Nobody plays like him-NOBODY!

I knew Robert in high school and it was obvious then that he was a born musician, the guitar came so naturally to him. Not many players at that age could make it seem so effortless. I regret that somehow we never worked together professionally. He will be missed.

It's a wonderful thing to see someone with Bobby's talent and humanity getting the recognition, admiration and respect he so richly deserves. In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make. I think that's easy to see here.

The last time I saw Robert was at Margo's art show in New Haven this past March I had not seen him in at least 25 yrs. When he played with Jon and Bob P and Lyn it brought back so many memories of Swamp Rat days and rehersals in my living room. Robert will always be a treasured friend.

My connection with Robert traces back to the early 70s. As a musician, I credit Robert as the key formative influence on my playing to this day. Our many performances together over the decades are memories to treasure. A good friend, a brilliant musician.

My deepest sympathy to Bobby's family. Though I had not seen him in many years Bobby always remained in my heart as one of the most influential people in my life. Someone I shared some of the best moments of my life with, both intelectually and musically. He had a unique and humorous outlook on life, and as a musician he always had a way of bringing the best out of me - always taking me to new musical heights. And he had the same effect on many people.
I was very fortunate to have the opportunity see him and jam with him one last time in March of this year. I learned a lot from him and his passing will leave a hole in many hearts. We love you Robert.

In Death we are clearly reminded of how
grateful we are for all who touch our life. The
huge gap reveals the Love we share...
no activity or busyness to block it's view.
Robert , what a gift you are to all of us.

Bobby was one of the most colorful people that I have ever had the pleasure to know. He introduced me to the world of blues music, and introduced me to artists that I still love and listen to. Being in Swamp Rat with Bobby and being able to sing with a guitar player of his caliber is one of the fondest memories of my life. Bobby was one of the greatest guitar players that I have ever heard. Now Bobby can show Mr. Buchanan and Stevie Ray a few licks of his own.
I loved you Bobby, and I will miss you.
