Marty you meant the world to me. I loved hearing the stories of you when you were young. How you had to sneak up the drive after dates with Mom on the front porch waiting. Also all of the stories of travel and advice of a long successful marriage.

Marty, you were one of a kind. Your laugh was infectious and your eyes would light up the room. I loved listening to your story´s on your travels with the Peace Corp and around the US with Jim.
I enjoyed sitting around the fire with you, looking out towards the Stuart Mountains embracing Gods glory that he created. I loved your cooking! I love the cookbook that you put together for me of your recipes and each time I bring it out..I smile. Your love of `Alabama´ football was undeniable. If anyone called or interrupted you on Saturday during football season you politely but sternly let them know that `now is not the time´. From the football boards hanging on the wall every fall to the National Championship game it was a joy watching you cheer them on, along with WSU and Jim´s Michigan State. You were a bright light that faded however you will always be remembered. `Crimson Tide, Roll Tide, Roll Tide´!

Sending sympathy to my cousins,
I remember that Marty liked the singer Josh Groban, who sang "To Where You Are" . . .
Who can say for certain
Maybe you're still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories so clear
