Elaine Sgambati Obituary
Ringwood - Elaine Sgambati, 83, surrounded by her loving family departed this life to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on October 29, 2018. Beloved wife of William Sgambati, she is survived by her three children, Bill, Steven, and Lori, her 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Elaine was an accomplished artist and art teacher and a member of the Ridgewood Art Institute. Her full bio can be found at esgambati.com.
A viewing will be held at the C.C.VanEmburgh Funeral Home, 306 E. Ridgewood Ave, Ridgewood on Thursday, 11/1 from 7-9pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, 11/2 at 1pm. www.vanemburgh.com

Am so sorry to learn of Elaine's passing....what a vibrant and engaging soul. I met Elaine and Bill on an eventful Amtrak trip when because of some malfunction the train needed to stop at every single crossing from DC. It took a full six or seven hours to get to Raleigh but the delay turned out to be a delightful thing instead of a nuisance. Elaine took it all in stride and our little group had a lovely visit. She gave me her card and in checking her website I saw what an amazing talent she possessed. Our acquaintance was brief, but memorable. I can only imagine the wonderful memories her friends and family must share. May she rest in peace and her memory be a blessing.
