Linda Anderson Obituary

Linda Anderson 1944 - 2020
Waterford - Linda (Staubley) Anderson passed away on December 26, 2020, due to complications from both Alzheimer's and COVID-19.
Linda was born March 7, 1944, to the late Charles Staubley and Veronica (Courtney) Frisch. She was a graduate of Norwich Free Academy and New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing. Linda is remembered for her kind spirit and boundless compassion. She worked as a visiting nurse at United Community & Family Services, Omni Home, and New Milford VNA.
During her retirement, Linda also enjoyed volunteering at the Waterford Senior Center. Each person she served throughout her 50-year career was special to her. Linda is remembered for her loving dedication to family and friends, her incredible sense of humor, spontaneous dance parties, and love of Motown.
She and her husband of 40 years Jim Anderson enjoyed traveling, boating, fishing, motorcycle rides, and drives along the shore ending with a seafood restaurant as the destination. Linda was an amazing mother to her daughters; Kate Caristo-Scalora and the late Lila (Caristo) Savage. She taught her daughters to be strong independent women and made sure they had every opportunity to be their very best.
The greatest joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren, Annika Savage, Nico Scalora, and Gianna Scalora. They remember her for her amazing snacks, trips to the children's museum, parks, and always a special treat at the gift shop.
She is also survived by her sister, Connie Seigal, and sons-in-law, Josh Scalora and John Savage.
Linda's family will be forever grateful to the medical staff who cared for her during her final days at Bayview and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
Due to the pandemic, a celebration of life will be postponed until a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established the Linda Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to a nursing student who has overcome adversity in their pursuit of their education. Donations can be made in Linda's name to the TRC Foundation, 574 New London Turnpike, Norwich, CT 06360 or online at www.threerivers.edu/about/institution-administration/institutional-advancementcollege-foundation/giving/.
