John LaPointe Obituary

John LaPointe

It is with great sadness the family of John LaPointe of Antioch announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, August 21st.

He was a spirited Chicago White Sox, Bulls, Bears and Blackhawks fan. John was well known around Antioch and the owner of an American Family Insurance office in Wauconda.

In addition to Vickie, Casey and Ashley, John is forever remembered by Donald LaPointe (Father) Samia Fasehun (Mother), Patty Hartung (Sister), Denise Barnett (Sister), Mary Beth Henry (Sister), Paul LaPointe (Brother).

John was preceded in death by "The Great One".

John's wonderful spirit and joy will be remembered with a visitation on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, from 3:00PM to 8:00PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 28, at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Antioch.

To the Lapointe Family, we are so sorry for your loss. Johns was a terrific guy and he will be missed. We just learned about John today when we called his office. We were long-time customers of John. I have been in the insurance industry for 30 years at a different company. John has always been one of the most helpful agents and just a great person in general, and was the reason we stayed with American Family.

God Bless you John and the Lapointe family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have known John for a long time. Ever since he played softball with my sons father Greg, years ago, we have been true friends. I could always count on Johnny for a big smile and hilarious conversation. My family will miss him tremendously. We truly believe he has moved on to heaven where he can now see his friend Greg again as well as other friends and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with the LaPointe family.

Brian and I are heartbroken about the loss of John. Not only was he our insurance agent, he was our friend. As an agent, John was the best. He took us on as clients after we had been, unbeknownst to us, uninsured for over a year. We could not have been more pleased with the service we received. He even explained how important good driving habits were to both our boys when they turned sixteen. He would take the time out of his day to call just to say Hi. His smile and his laughter will be missed. His professionalism were hallmarks of his office. God Bless you, John. May you Rest In Peace.

Dear John, we last left off when you were on grill and I was working the drive through. Time passes, but the memories remain so fresh. I still remember visits to your grandpa's (uncle's?) house boat after the midnight shifts. I'm so proud of the life you created for yourself in these past years. You were fun to be around, and very trustworthy. All of God's Blessings upon you, fine sir!

John and I have not spoken in a while but we would occasionally call each other about insurance stuff. If I had a customer leaving because of rates, I would send them his way because I knew he would take good care of them. He would then call to thank me and we would joke around. Very sorry to hear of his passing, my condolences to the LaPointe family.

This is a shock and so sad. I was just thinking about John last night as I drove past his office on 176. He could always be counted on for a big smile and a bear hug. I pray God will comfort all those who loved him dearly and whose lives he touched. There are many!
