Sophie K. Kulis Obituary
She was born March 21, 1937, in Poland, to Gregory and Mary Grodzicki.
She was a "gardening" angel, living by the 11th commandment: "Love one another as I have loved you." She lived her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, godmother, aunt, grandmother, friend, baby sitter, dog sitter, neighbor, parishioner, co-worker, sponsor and gardener. A true gift from heaven to all those whose lives she touched so deeply. Eternal love. Rest in peace, dear Sophie.
She is survived by her children, William (Tina) Kulis, Mary Lou (Mike) Valasek, Peter Daniel Kulis, Tom Kulis, Victoria (Alan) Klimek and Anne Marie (Steve) Monte; her 11 grandchildren; a sister, Anne (Casey) Bania; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter John Kulis; and a brother, Michael Grodzicki.
The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at Windridge Funeral Home, 104 High Road (west of Route 14 and Main Street), Cary. The visitation will continue from 10:30 a.m. until the Mass celebration at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 143 First St., Batavia, IL 60510.

Kulis Family,
Our thoughts are prayers are with your whole family during this most difficult time. Sophie was and will ALWAYS be a inspiration to us all. We will never forget her. She was the best friend and neighbor anyone could ever ask for. She will always be our gardening angel. She showed us so much, like being Thankful for the little things. Thank You Sophie for being part of our family and blessing our lives with your smile, laughter and wisdom. We will miss you. Love you Always
