Roger Tichenor Obituary

ROGER DALE TICHENOR HIGHLAND, IN
Roger Dale Tichenor, 71, of Highland, Indiana (formerly of Schererville and Hammond), passed away on May 9, 2017, with his loving family by his side. Roger is survived by Olga, his loving and devoted wife of 47 years; one son, Tracy (Sabrina) Tichenor; two stepdaughters: Cheryl (John) Cody and Denise Albright. He is also survived by three sisters: Louise Maddox, Reba Carter, and Belinda Bullock, as well as several nieces and nephews, all of Kentucky. He is also survived by granddaughters Tasia Hojnicki and Alysa Hubbard and great grandchildren Alaysia Hubbard, Drue Hubbard, and Taj Hojnicki. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Dula Mae (Ball) Tichenor and Donnie Tracy Tichenor; his brothers Wendell Ray Tichenor and Lavaughn "Bud" Tichenor; and sister Sondra Tichenor, also all from Kentucky. Roger was born in Owensboro, Kentucky and raised in Centertown, Kentucky. Roger retired in 2008 from Union Tank Car after 39 years. Prior to Union Tank, he worked at Trocar for nine years. Roger spent most of his time with his son Tracy building hotrods. Roger and Tracy were always inseparable. Roger will be deeply missed by his family and friends. No words can express what it means to lose him. The visitation was held at Burns-Kish Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. The service will be held Friday, May 12, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave, Munster, Indiana 46321 with burial following at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Crown Point, Indiana.
