MARY KILLENS Obituary

Mary Catherine Killens (nee Stringer) HOBART, IN - Mary Catherine Killens (nee Stringer) age 86, of Hobart, IN. Mary was born May 5, 1932 in Macon County, Decatur, IL and passed on September 27, 2018. She married her loving husband Robert J. Killens on November 9, 1950, who passed away May 12, 2018. They are together again. Bob and Mary shared the same birthday, two years apart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morrison J. Stringer and Ina Charlotte Stringer (nee Wyckoff); brother-in-law, Thomas "Bud" Killens, and sister-in-law, Judith Killens Crawford. Mary was a proud member of the Order of Eastern Star, Colonial Dames, and a 50 year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was a graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1950. Mary is survived by daughter, Kathy Killens Coffman (James) of Valparaiso; sisters-in-law, Patricia Ayers of Florida, and Karen Fahey of Hebron. We wish to thank the staff of Towne Centre and Harbor Light Hospice for their kind treatment of Mary and Bob. Arrangements made for cremation with Burns Funeral Home, Crown Point. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your local humane society. www.burnsfuneral.com
