PAULINE SULLIVAN Obituary

SULLIVAN--Pauline Gerli, 97, died peacefully on April 20, 2010. A graduate of the Spence School, 1930 and the Art Students League. Pre-Deceased by her husband, John McNamee Sullivan. Loving and devoted mother of Pamela Banker, Leslie Horn, John M. Sullivan Jr, Christine Sullivan Witker. Cherished grandmother of nine: Todd Horn, Anthony Horn, Christina Horn Wilmerding, Stephanie Horn Moulton, Leslie Banker Mullins, Jessica Sullivan Faraci, Samantha Sullivan Gaumer, James Witker III and Pauline Witker. Great-Grandmother of 18. An independent woman, sculptor and artist with a passion for her family, painting, travel, Ireland and roses. She embraced life with verve and love. A former chairman of the board of Woman's Hospital, a division of St. Lukes Hospital Center and a past president of the Southampton Garden Club. In lieu of flowers, to further the Art Programs, gifts in her memory may be made to the Spence School, 22 East 91st St, New York, NY 10128. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary R.C. Church, Southampton, NY.

I never met Mrs. Sullivan , but I know her son John . She did a wonderful job in raising a son that appreciates people. He is very caring,understanding and kind to the people he knows . This can only come from his up bringing as a child . Our prayers are with his family at this time of their loss.
