George Sullivan Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 16, 2026.
George Sullivan, II, aged 89, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in Ridge Manor, Florida. Born on September 16, 1936, in Victory, Vermont, George led a life marked by dedication to his work, devotion to his family, and a deep love for nature.

George proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished career, retiring from both Eastman Kodak and Hynrick Motors in Rochester, New York. Throughout his career, George was known for his unwavering work ethic and commitment to excellence.

An avid outdoorsman, George found great joy in hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time immersed in the beauty of nature. His cherished log cabin was the site of many memorable campfires, where stories were shared and friendships were strengthened.

In 2003, George began splitting his time between New York and Florida as a "snowbird," ultimately making Ridge Manor his permanent home in 2019 after years in Avoca, New York. This transition allowed him to embrace the warmth of the southern climate while maintaining his strong ties to the north.

George's spirit will be fondly remembered by his lifetime companion of over 32 years, Mercedes "Mercy" Galvan; his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Kelli Parshall; his brothers, Paul (Susan) Sullivan, Mark (Wendy) Galvan, Frank "Pancho" Galvan, and John Balcer; his sister, Patti McCabe; and his grandchildren, Anthony (Ebony) Shaw, Jaden Parshall, and Lydia Parshall. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who hold his memory dear.

At this time, services for George have not been scheduled. His family appreciates the support and condolences from all who knew and loved him.

George Sullivan, II will be remembered for his kindness, his passion for the outdoors, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him.
