Edward J. Sullivan

Edward J. Sullivan, age 67 of Oak Lawn, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the Honorable Judge Laura Marie Sullivan (Ret., nee Suffield); devoted father of Kathleen and Kristen Sullivan;

Dear brother of Marianne (Dave) Landis; Dr. Thomas (Vicki) Sullivan, Daniel (Dr. Karen) Sullivan, and Jack (Karen) Sullivan; Cherished son of the late Thomas and Marcella (nee Farrell) Sullivan;

Dear brother in law of Gregory (Dr. Lisa) Suffield, Monica (Mark) Buckentin, and Christopher (Diane) Suffield. Fond uncle, nephew, and cousin to many.

Ed was a proud alumnus of Brother Rice High School and Western Illinois University. He later earned a Master's degree in Public Administration.

Ed began his distinguished career in law enforcement as a Special Agent with the Norfolk Southern Railway. He later served as an investigator with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, working in the Felony Trial Division, Gang Crimes Unit, and the Markham Felony Courthouse. After more than 40 years of dedicated service, he retired, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and integrity.

Ed was also a devoted longtime parishioner of St. Germaine and St. Linus. A lifelong and loyal fraternity brother of Phi Sigma Epsilon and a passionate shortstop on the softball field, where he played in dozens of leagues over the years, forming hundreds of lasting friendships through the game.
