MARJORIE BALBONI Obituary

BALBONI--Marjorie Fletcher, died peacefully in Westwood, Massachusetts on May 22, 2010. Born in New York City, May 6, 1921, she was the daughter of Andrew and Dorothea Camp Fletcher of Mendham, NJ and New York City. She was predeceased by her siblings, Andrew Fletcher of New York and Anne Robinson of London, as well as by her husband, Dr.Victor G. Balboni, and their favorite dog, Reggie. She and her husband, married for 56 years, raised four daughters in Chestnut Hill and Little Compton, where they enjoyed sailing on the Sea Bird and golf at the Brookline Country Club and the Sakonnet Golf Club. Marjorie was an accomplished artist, a member of The Copley Society, who liked to paint with the Westport Art Group. She was an active member in The Junior League of Boston, The Colonial Dames, The Chilton Club, Smith Alumnae, and The Garden Club of Chestnut Hill. She was a loyal parishioner of The Church of The Redeemer. Marjorie will be missed by her daughters and their husbands, Margot Balboni of Brookline, MA, Lisa and Adolf Haffenreffer of Little Compton, RI, Christina and Robert Patterson of Atherton, CA, and Lillian and John Nolan of West Hartford, CT. She leaves seven grandchildren, Lindley Haffenreffer of New York, Adolf Haffenreffer of Newport, Andrew Haffenreffer of Boulder, Elizabeth McGrath of New York, Victor E. Patterson of San Francisco, Peter Prestley of Saipan, and Milo Werner of San Francisco, as well as three great-grandchildren, Fletcher Kathryn Werner, Rose McGrath, and May McGrath. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Dedham on Friday, June 4th at 11am.
