Oh, my heart aches. For Karen and for you. She was such a special friend: always polite, despite the circumstances, smart, energetic; vital in every way. I always loved to hear about her adventure trips - with friends and family members. I loved hearing about her work projects, having wine and many dinners together. I was so blessed to have her for an almost roommate. Just the elevator bank separated us on 18th St. I will look forward to meeting Karen's family this weekend when my husband and I come to the memorial service. I've heard so much about you all. I'm so sorry it will be for this sad service. We will be together to honor a life well lived. Just over WAY too soon. Until Sunday. Best,

My deepest, deepest condolences on the loss of this beautiful,
beautiful person. To Karen's family, my heart aches for all of you. I was sorry to see her leave our book group for the job
at Yale, but happy for her to get the job she was eager to have, yet also continued to miss her presence in the group.
Again, my heart goes out to all of you,
Carol Rapoport
