Temon Vice Obituary

ODESSA Temon Bruce "Bo" Vice, 87, went to be with the Lord on June 15, 2010, at Regency Hospital in Odessa. He was born on Nov. 14, 1922, in Center, Texas, to Frank and Fannie G. Vice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters. He lived in Arkansas when, in 1939, he joined the CC Camp and went into the Eighth Army in 1943. He was a combat engineer and a survivor of the Normandy Invasion Omaha Beach, First Wave on D-Day. He was also in campaigns in North Africa and Italy. He was an outstanding veteran and was very proud to have served his country to the fullest of his ability. He retains the rank of Sergeant. He was a true patriot of the Unites States of America. He put his life on the line for his beliefs in this country and the Constitution. In 2009, there were only four known survivors of the Omaha Beach invasion. It was men like this that fought and died in the many wars to give us the freedom we enjoy and have today!
After his military duty, he worked in the oil industry most of his life. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed them until his late 80s. He was loved, and he will be missed but not forgotten!
He is survived by his son, John David Vice and his wife Sherry of Shreveport, La.; his brother, Emmett Vice of Odessa; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the family greeting friends on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Western Roses Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Emmett Vice Jr., Phil McVean, Freeland VanZandt, Lloyd Sanders, Billy Vice and David Vice.
Services are by Odessa Funeral Home.

June 18, 2010

Hi Emmett, Marilyn, Phil and all your family members: Don and I are so sorry for your loss. What a great 'soldier' he was serving our country. It just gave me 'goose bumps' to read the Obit; you can be very proud of the legacy he left to your family. We hold your family very dear, and will be praying for you throughout the coming days. God Bless You, Don and Annette Moellering
