Joseph R. Marth Jr., 55, of Houston, died Tuesday, March 23, 2021, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital.
He was born January 21, 1966, in Washington, a son of the late Joseph and Bonnie Lee Bernard Marth.
Mr. Marth was a 1983 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School.
He was a machinist for the Perryman Company for more than 20 years.
Mr. Marth was a member of the Houston Volunteer Fire Department and the Canonsburg Sportsman Club.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to his camp in Slippery Rock, and spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren.
On November 26, 1988, he married Patricia Lucas, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Katelyn Crites (Jim) of Washington; a son, Shane Marth (Keely Shoup) of Bethel Park; two grandchildren, McKenna and Brantley Crites; a brother, Terry Marth (Mary Anne) of Eighty Four; two sisters, Jody Kosharsky (John) of Houston and Tammy Kelley (Mike) of Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 25, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.
Interment will be private.
Due to present circumstances, masks must be worn and social distancing guidelines should be followed.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Houston Volunteer Fire Department, 14 West McNutt Street, Houston, PA 15342.
