Mark Ruf Obituary
Mark Ruf, age 48, died November 13, 2013.
Mark graduated from Revere High School, 1983, third in his class with an award for Outstanding Achievement in Honors English. He graduated from Wittenberg University, 1987, with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, Magna Cum Laude, and graduated from Case Western Reserve University Law School with a Juris Doctor degree in 1990. After law school, Mark was employed as an associate with the patent law firm of Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, in Washington D.C. Beginning in 1994, Mark established and maintained a successful trial and appellate tort law practice in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mark loved being outdoors, mountain and road biking, boating, water skiing, white water rafting, golfing, hiking, snow skiing, walking dogs, and just being out in the sun. He twice completed a five-day 400 mile bike ride through the State of Ohio to raise money for Christ Community Chapel local ministries. He also participated in Pedal to the Point charity bike ride. Mark had a marvelous sense of humor, was a creative artist, and was a wonderful cook who enjoyed preparing meals for his family.
He is survived by his parents, Dr. Walter and Patricia Ruf; sister and brother-in-law, Tina and Steve Haas; his beloved niece, Ella; and his uncle, Jerry Baumle.
Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday. Interment at Moore's Chapel Cemetery.
