Dear Uncle Ed, Aunt Jean, Todd, Jason and Drew,

Nine pages of entries is quite a tribute to Sean's life! Sean had a joy and zest for life that was contagious to all who knew him. He lived more in his 30 years than most people live in 90. There was in his heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing appetite of what's next and the joy of the game of living. He was, and is an inspiration to us all. And although there is nothing we could say or do to ease your pain at this time, please know how much we love you all, and that you are in our thoughts and prayers. You raised an incredible son and brother. You made a difference, and continue to do so. God bless you all.

Love,

Dear Riegler Family,

I am deeply sorry to hear about Sean's passing. I graduated with Sean from Walsh Jesuit and visited with him frequently when he was at Univ. of Cinti. It wasn't until I attended the Kairos retreat at Walsh that I really got to know Sean. We were roommates. From then on, I really treasured his friendship.

One story about Sean that I still tell people today regards the first time I golfed with Sean. It was just before our graduation at Walsh. Sean decided that he could improve his golf game by walking the course barefooted! I have played a lot of golf, and he has been the only person I have ever known to golf in his barefeet. That was one of the funniest sites I've seen on a golf course. That was typical of Sean's great sense of humor.

I wish you all the best in these tough times. May God bless you all.

I was one of the neighborhood babysitters for the Riegler boys. It seems like only yesterday...and how fast time goes by. They were great kids! I hope the family finds comfort in knowing that by the looks of the entries and response that Sean had made a significant contribution to this world and that God's plan for Sean was complete.

Until we see him again, may we all find comfort in knowing that he is in a better place.

Sean, or Whitey as I knew him, was one of the most patient and generous people I have ever met. I can hardly remember him without a smile on his face and he seemed to bring out that same expression in anyone he came in contact with. The ski trips to Colorado will seem a lot colder without him.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Riegler family during this difficult time.

To the Riegler Family,

Sometimes you are fortunate enough to encounter people that truly make a difference in your life by the words they say, the help they give or just the smile they put on your face. Sean just so happened to be one of those special people that I had the honor of knowing.

Even though I Sean and I lost track of each other after our Copley Middle School and CCD days, I will always remember him as being a truly remarkable person. He certainly led a life for others to emulate. Please accept my sincere sympathy for the loss of your son and brother.

To Mr. & Mrs. Riegler, Todd, Drew, Jason, Melissa, family and friends:

My thought and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. I met Sean while working at Mueller Electric and am grateful for the time we had to develop a friendship. I will always remember Sean's beautiful smile and his wonderful laugh. Based upon the stories he shared of his childhood and any activities with his family, you felt like you knew everyone. His enthusiasm in his storytelling demonstrated the great love and pride he had for his family, as well as his friends. Sean was a very loving, caring individual. I truly appreciate the opportunity to have known such a kind and loving soul.

I knew Sean many years ago in elementary school and remember that almost every little girl in our class had a crush on him....I lost track of him after I moved in 7th grade, but it sounds like he continued to be a special person and to touch the lives of those around him. Please know I am thinking of you all during this time.

To the Riegler Family-

Please accept my sincere sympathy for the loss of Sean.

I knew Sean from our time in the Copley shcools. I remmeber him as a friendly and caring person who was liked and admired by all, regardless of social status. Although it has been some time since some of us have been with him, you can tell the way in which he has affected us. That is the mark of a truly special person.

May these words give you comfort in this time of grief.

Hey Sean,

You're in heaven playing soccer aren't you!? Runnin' the turkey trot???

Well, I'm down here remembering Arrowhead during Valentine's when all the girls wanted to give you the valentine's cards--forget the rest of the boys, or how about the time when you and I were racing to see who could read the fastest during our "SRA" reading exercises, jumping from color to color with me while talking to much in the library with Mrs. Ficken.

you were always having fun on the playground, and Mrs. Kemp kept blowing the whistle at you boys! Red Rover, Red Rover, let Sean come over!

Ahhh, and before you left for Walsh, how can we forget 8th grade with Mr. Bonk. You helped the only two gals in your class, Marcia Hartman and me with our projects. I got an A! Thanks! ;-) My parents still have my wooden tennis racket you helped make with me, all sandblasted with the mirror in the middle and everything. Thanks for your patience, and making sure you didn't do the whole thing ;-)

Also, thanks for truly believing that there were no "clicks" in school. You had a smile and a friendly and meaningful "hi" for everyone. That's why we all liked you. Not many kids were and are like that. That says a lot about how you were raised.

It was neat how my mom was able to teach with your mom for a bit... who knew!?! What a small world.

Rieglers,

my heart goes out to you... G-d gave us the ability to remember the great times.. this is a true gift.

May you know that Sean will always be with you in spirit....

with love,

I remember growing up with Sean, Todd, Jason and Drew playing everything from atari video games to kick-the-can to soccer. He was a great soccer player - one of the strongest and fastest players I ever knew. Maybe it came from all the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches he used to eat. You can't think of the Rieglers and not also think of Sean. I remember him as a sincere, fun-loving, and caring person. May God bless him and keep him forever; may God bless and comfort the Riegler family.

To the Riegler family,

Sean Riegler was a person, and is a soul, that I will always admire. During the tough years finding our way through HS, Sean always seemed to have a peacefulness about him. He always had a warm smile for everyone, an understanding of himself and his surroundings far surpassing his age. I truly believe his grace and selfless love were needed somewhere else. I'm just thankful to have experienced Sean, let alone call him a friend.
